DANCE UPS – Thursday Community Session
Arden Community Hall (Hoxton)
Service Description
DANCE UPS is a high-energy community dance workshop exploring a range of styles including street dance, soca and dancehall. Each 1.5-hour session is structured into four parts: Warm-Up & Musicality (15–20 mins) We build rhythm, timing and coordination through guided warm-ups and musical exercises to strengthen confidence and performance quality. Technique & Choreography (30–35 mins) Participants learn choreography across different dance styles, developing technique, transitions and stage presence. Creative Activities & Team Building (20–25 mins) Interactive dance-based games, group challenges and bonding activities. Occasionally, external organisations join us to deliver additional workshops and experiences. Stage Rehearsal & Performance Development (20–25 mins) We practise formations, spacing and performance delivery in preparation for live opportunities. Throughout the year, participants may choose to take part in our annual showcase. Performance is completely optional, those who prefer to attend purely for fun, fitness and skill development are equally welcome.
